Dealerships focus on selling basic, affordable transportation, with an average selling price of about $9,300 in 2011. It has been expanding primarily in Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Missouri. While the company's business plan has focused on cities with up to 50,000 in population (70% of sales), it sees better collection results among the smaller communities it serves. America's Car-Mart was founded in 1981 as the Crown Group.
